Howard Cohen is a lead client service audit partner with Deloitte and Touche LLP. He is the immediate past audit partner-in-charge of the Kansas City Audit Practice. Howard joined the EPIC Board of Directors in 2009 and became treasurer in 2010. Prior to serving on the EPIC Board, he served two terms as treasurer for the Starlight Theatre Board of Directors.

Howard received his bachelor of science in accounting and business administration from the University of Kansas and joined Deloitte in 1979 and became partner in 1990. As Lead Client Service Audit Partner, he focuses on financial services with an industry emphasis to include banking, insurance, and SEC engagements. Howard’s local experience includes Sarbanes Oxley 404 attestations, regulatory offering circular filings, annual and quarterly SEC filings including special registration statements.

His civic and professional involvement includes Financial Managers Society of Kansas City (former president), Missouri and Kansas Society of Certified Public Accountants, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Kansas City Tomorrow Alumni (KC Civic Council), Board of Directors, University of Kansas Alumni Association (past-treasurer), University of Kansas Accounting and Information Systems Advisory Council (executive committee member and past-chair), Jewish Vocational Services (former board member), University of Kansas School of Business (executive committee member and past-chair), Jewish Community Foundation of Greater KC (member, Professional Advisory Committee), Board of Trustees, University of Kansas Endowment Association, Financial Executives Institute, Board of Directors, University of Kansas Hillel (past-president), and United Way, Tocqueville Society. Howard alsoreceived the 2005 Distinguished Alumni Award from the University of Kansas School of Business.
